Malpua is a very famous dessert in North and East India. It is specially prepared in the time of Janmasthami, also in Holi and Diwali.Make a batter of all purpose flour and suji with banana and fries it in a oil or ghee and dip in a sugar syrap; this is how to make janmashtami special banana malpua.
2cupSugar -2 cup (1 and 1/2 cup for syrup and ½ cup for batter)
1tspbaking soda
1tspfennel seeds
4Cardamom
1/4tspCardamom Powder (Elaichi)
oil or ghee
milk
Instructions
Add all purpose floor, suji, fennel seeds, cardamom powder, sugar, soda and banana (smashed), mix it well then add milk and make a batter. The batter should not be too runny or too thick. Keep it aside with cover for an hour.
Make sugar syrup, take 1 and ½ cup of sugar with one cup of water and cardamom, boil till it sticky on palm, switch off the burner and keep it aside.
Take a hard bottomed pan, heat oil/ghee and drop 1 large spoonful of batter into the oil to make a 2-inch diameter of pancake. Put one by one in the hot oil, fry till it becomes golden brown in color.
Take out from the hot oil, put it into the sugar syrup for 2 minutes.
Taking out from sugar syrup and allow them to cool and serve .
