Sola Kochu Curry Recipe/Alocasia fornicata Stem Curry Recipe is a super tasty recipe when you cooked with onions and tomatoes, adding with some spices. In this recipe the sola kochu/ alocasia stem chunks are fried and then simmered in a thick gravy made with tomatoes, onions, garlic, and ginger and added with some spices finished in a warm, spicy, cumin-flavored sauce which makes this awesome recipe.

Sola Kochu Curry Recipe

The types of equipment required for this recipe are

The ingredients required are

  • Sola Kochu/Alocasia fornicata Stem-600 gm
  • Whole red chilies-2
  • Onion paste-1 cup
  • Ginger-garlic paste-1/2 tbsp
  • Bay leaf-1
  • Cumin seeds-1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Cumin powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Red chili powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Kashmiri mirch powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Tomato paste-1 cup
  • Lemon -1
  • Oil-2 tbsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves-2 tbsp
  • Salt

How to make Sola Kochu Curry Recipe/Alocasia fornicata Stem Curry Recipe

Wash the sola kochu and peel them; cut them into slices, and put them in a pressure cooker along with one cup of water, close the lid and go for 1 whistle

Open the lid after releasing the pressure, and check how nicely it has been boiled

Heat  oil in a pan, add the sola kochu pieces and fry them nicely (keep 2-3 boiled pieces for further use)

Once done, take them out from the oil and keep them aside

Add cumin seeds, whole red chili, and bay leaf in the same oil for tempering

As they splutter and sizzle, add the onion paste and stir them for two minutes, then add the ginger-garlic paste and stir them for another two minutes

Add the spices(turmeric powder, cumin,garam masala, Kashmiri mirch, and red chili powder)and stir them until the raw smell goes off

Now add the tomato paste and mix them well, and cook for another two minutes

Add water and boil them for 2 minutes

Now mash the 2-3 pieces of sola kochu and add in the gravy

Add the fried sola kochu and mix them well and cook for another 2 minutes

Turn off the flame, and spread chopped coriander leaves,
