Doi Mach Recipe / Fish in Yogurt Curry Recipe is a fantastic fish curry dish with yogurt and onion in white gravy. This is a straightforward recipe using minimal spice. I have chosen Rohu fish for this great recipe, you can choose Katla also.

- Mixing bowl

- Kadai/Fry pan
- Spatula

The ingredients required for this recipe are
- Rui or Rohu fish pieces – 3 (big size)
- Onion-2
- Ginger-garlic paste-1 tbsp
- Bay leaves-2
- Cardamoms-2
- Cinnamon-1/2 inch stick
- Peppercorns-5
- Cloves-4
- Cumin seeds-1/2 tbsp
- Fresh Yogurt-1 cup
- Cooking oil-3 tbsp
- Sugar-1/2 tbsp
- Green Chilies-6
- Cardamom powder-1/4 tbsp
- Peppercorn powder-1/2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
How to make Doi Mach Recipe / Fish in Yogurt Curry Recipe
Take a blender jar add the onions and make a paste


Clean and wash the fish chunks add salt and peppercorn powder and rub them well; keep them aside

Heat oil in a wok, let it come to a smoky point, then gently drop the fish chunks and fry them well on both sides and take them out from the oil; keep them aside

Heat oil in a pan and add bay leaves, cardamoms, cinnamon, peppercorns, cloves, and cumin seeds to temper

As they splutter and sizzle add the onion paste and stir them for a minute

Add ginger-garlic paste and stir them till the raw smell goes off completely

Then add the yogurt and stir them continuously for a minute

Add salt and sugar and mix them well

Add the green chilies

Then slowly drop the Rohu fish chunks mix them well, and cook for 2 minutes on medium flame

Turn off the flame; sprinkle cardamom powder and chopped coriander leaves

Transfer them to a serving plate and serve hot with rice
