Carrot Thoran Recipe/Carrot Stir Fry is one of the simplest side dishes we always have on our dining table. Carrot Thoran Recipe

The ingredients required for this recipe are

  • Carrot (grated)-2 cups
  • Cumin seeds-1/2 tbsp
  • Urad dal/ biuli dal-1 tbsp
  • Whole red chili-3
  • Curry leaves-2 sprigs
  • Green chilies (silted)-2
  • Grated coconut-1/2 cup
  • Oil-2 tbsp 
  • Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp 
  • Salt, to taste

How to make Carrot Thoran Recipe/Carrot Stir Fry

Take a blender jar; add cumin seeds and whole red chili

Make a coarse paste and add grated coconut Again make a coarse paste

Grate the carrots, and keep them aside

Heat oil in a pan and add Urad dal, mustard seeds, and curry leaves for tempering

Once they started spluttering add the grated carrots and stir them for a minute

Add salt and mix them well

Cover the lid and allow them to cook for 3-4 minutes on low-medium flame

Open the lid add the grated coconut and stir them for a minute on high flame

Turn off the heat

Transfer them to a serving plate and serve hot with rice and sambar
