Ingredients
Bisi Bele bath powder
- Bengal gram/chana dal-3 tbsp
- Black gram/urad dal-1.5 tbsp
- Sesame seeds-1/2 tbsp
- Fenugreek seeds1/4 tsp
- Fennel seeds-1/2 tbsp
- Oil-2 tsp
- Cumin seeds/jeera-1/2 tbsp
- Coriander seeds- 2 tbsp
- Peppercorns-1/2 tsp
- Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
- Poppy seeds-1/2 tbsp
- Cinnamon sticks- 1/2 inch
- Cloves-3
- Marathi moggu-2
- Kashmiri red chilies-5
- Coconut slices-3-4/ 25 gm
- Red chillies-10
Pressure Cooking
- Raw rice -3/4 cup
- Toor dal-1/2 cup
- Water-3 cup
For making Bisi Bele bath
- Oil-1.5 tbsp
- Ghee-1.5 tbsp
- Mustard seeds-1/2 tbsp
- Curry leaves-10-12
- Onion (cut in big cubic size)-1
- Potato (cut in big cubic size)-1
- Carrot-1
- Beans-5
- Tamarind water ½ cup
- Jaggery (grated)-1 tbsp
- Bisi bele powder-3 tbsp
For tempering
- Grated coconut-1 tbsp
- Cashews-15-18
- Red chili-2
- Curry leaves-10-12

Bisi Bele bath powder
Keep ready all the ingredients

Heat oil in a griddle
Add cloves, cinnamon, Marathi moggu, and peppercorns fry them and take them out from the flame

Add urad dal, chana dal, Kashmiri mirch, red chili, and coconut

Fry them all, and take them out from the griddle

Add leftover ingredients and fry them

Take them out from the griddle and keep all the ingredients cool at room temperature

Put all the spices into the blender jar and make a fine powder and keep them aside.

In a mixing bowl add rice and toor dal after measuring

Wash and soak them for 15 minutes

Transfer them to a pressure cooker, and wait for two whistle

Open the lid of the pressure cooker after releasing the pressure, and check them

Heat oil and ghee in a frying pan/ Kadai

Add mustard seeds and curry leaves for tempering


Now add the onions, then add the potatoes and stir them for a minute

Add carrot and beans and sauté them for a minute, then cover the lid and allow them to cook for 5 minutes in low flame.


Open the lid and add the tamarind water, mix them and again cover it for 2 minutes


Open the cover and add jaggery, then Bisi bele powder


Mix them nicely

Now add the boiled rice and dal and mix them well



If requires, then add little water to make the required consistency
Tempering
Now in a tadka pan heat ghee and add cashews, allow them to change their color, then spread over the bisi bele bath


Same way spread the grated coconut, and then spread the red chili with curry leaves


Transfer them to a serving plate and serve hot with paneer curry
