How To Make koi Macher Jhol

Koi fish curry means Tel Koi, which I already prepared. Now I am going to prepare data Alu die koi macher jhol, which is also very flavorsome. The marinated koi fish are fried and then simmered in a stew made with chilies, and ginger and added with Potato and drumstick finished in a warm, spicy, cumin, flavored sauce and this is How To Make Koi Macher Jhol. Here I used potato with skin, the idea is not to mix the potato with the stew and make the stew thick.

Ingredients

  • 300 Gm koi mach(climbing perch)

For Spice Paste

  • One tbsp whole cumin seeds
  • Ginger-1 inch 
  • red chili-1
  • green chili-1

For Preparing the Curry

  • mustard oil-2 tbsp
  • Drumstick-2 large
  • Potato-2 (with skin)
  • Onion-1 (chopped)
  • 1 tsp panchforon
  • turmeric powder-1 tsp 
  • green chilies, -2 
  • salt to taste

For marinating the fish

  • mustard oil-1 tbsp 
  • turmeric powder-2 tbsp 
  • salt-2 tbsp 

How To Make Koi Macher Jhol

Clean and wash the koi fishes.

Coat them with turmeric powder and salt to marinate for 20-30 minutes

Peel ginger, add it with soaked cumin and dry chilies in a blender and make a paste

Heat oil in a wok, season it with oil before use to avoid the stickiness

Slowly drop the fish, don’t try to accommodate more fish at a time, fry them in stages.

Once fried on one side, turn it over to another side.

Place them on a plate to further use.

Wash and cut the drumstick in one-inch length

Wash and fry the potatoes with skin in a wok/Kadai till the skin becomes crispy

Add panchforon in the same wok for tempering, then add onions, sauté it and add the paste of cumin, ginger, and chili (Soak the cumin seeds and red chilies for half an hour. Make a paste by adding ginger and green chili).

Add the drumsticks, and stir them well with the spices for two minutes.

Now add turmeric powder, salt and sauté for two minutes.

Now the drumsticks are well coated with the spices.

Add potatoes and two cups of water; cover it and allow it to cook for 5 minutes to boil the potatoes and drumsticks.

After 5 minutes open the lid and slowly drop the koi fish; again cover the lid for two minutes.

Take it off from the oven and serve it hot with rice.

  • After 5 minutes open the lid andslowly drop the koi fish; again cover the lid for two minutes.
    Take it off from the oven and serveit hot with rice.
