Ingredients

  • Chicken-750 gm
  • Cardamom-4 green
  • Green chillies-2
  • 4 clove
  • Gobindobhog rice-2 cup
  • Ginger-2 inches
  • Garlic-8-10 cloves
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Cinnamon, red chilli, turmeric and cumin powder- 1 tsp each
  • Yoghurt (curd)-1/ cup
  • Cooking oil-1/2 cup
  • Cow ghee-1 tsp
  • 2 sliced onion
  • Salt to taste

How to make Gobindobhog chaler chicken pulao

  • First wash and marinate the chicken pieces with turmeric and red chili powder, salt and curd, keep it for hour at least
  • In a big bowl wash the Gobindobhog rice and let it soak for an hour
  • Now, heat oil in a hard bottomed pan on medium flame and add bay leaves, cardamom, cloves and cinnamon, then add sliced onions. Sauté those for 2 minutes or till onions turn soft and transparent.
  • Now, add the marinated chicken and stir it for 2 minutes, then add cumin powder and cook it for 6-7 minutes or till the raw smell of the spices are go off and chicken becomes softer.

  • Add rice and stir or mix it with chicken and the spices thoroughly
  • Then add 4 cups of water, season with salt and allow the rice to cook for 5-6 minutes or comes to a boil, then turn off the flame and cover the for 15 minutes.
