Masoor dal is one of the favorite dal of Bengali,so they always try to make some variation to get rid of boredom. Soaked masoor dal grinded with garlic,green chili and steam it for 20 minutes ,this is How to make masoor dal bhapa/steamed red lentil. This recipe goes well with steam rice and fish curry.

Ingredients

One cup soaked red lentil/masoor dal

Onion -01(chopped)

Garlic- 5-6 cloves

Green chili-2-3 silted

Mustard oil –two tea spoon

Salt to taste

 

How to make masoor dal bhapa/steamed red lentil

 

 

Wash masoor dal and soaked for one hour

Take a blender and add dal, green chili, garlic , salt and make a smooth paste.

Now pour this paste to a steel Tiffin box with tight cover and mix it with onion add green chili ,sprinkle mustard oil over it.

 

How to make masoor dal bhapa/steamed red lentil

Now after adding and mixing the paste, close the box and put it in a pressure cooker or any deep vessel after keeping a stand, add 2 cup water in the vessel and close the lid.

Let it allow cooking for 20 minutes or if in a pressure cooker, just giving one whistle, and wait to release the pressure.

Take it out from the vessel and open the box garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with steam rice and fish curry.How to make masoor dal bhapa/steamed red lentil
