Simple And Delicious Handi Mutton

Today I will share step-by-step how to make Simple and Delicious Handi Mutton / Mutton handi in a clay pot. This simple and delicious handi mutton curry is cooked in an earthen pot, which is also called Ahuna Mutton.

Equipment used

  • Handi/clay pot
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • 500 gms. mutton
  • Onions, sliced-5
  • Potatoes-4
  • Tomato-1
  • Ginger -1 inch grated
  • garlic grated- ½ cup. 
  • Salt
  • Turmeric powder -1 tbsp. 
  • Red chili powder – 1 tbsp. 
  • Coriander-cumin powder-1 tbsp. 
  • Garam masala powder-1 tbsp. 
  • Bay leaves-3
  • Green cardamoms-2
  • Big cardamom-1
  • Cinnamon-1/2 inch stick
  • Cloves-4-5
  • Yoghurt-1/2 cup 
  • Green chilies, slit-3
  • Mustard oil-1/2 cup 
  • For dum wheat flour dough

How to make Simple and Delicious Handi Mutton / Mutton handi in a clay pot

Clean the mutton pieces completely, add the yogurt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and cumin powder garam masala, and coriander powder. Rub the mutton chunks and keep them to marinate for 1 hour.

Now take a clean clay pot, and then put the four potatoes

Then add the marinated mutton

Add the grated ginger

Now add the chopped onions and shake them to mix well

Add half a cup of grated garlic

Add 1 tomato cut into 4 pieces

Now add the whole spices (cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and sahi jeera)

Add half a cup of mustard oil and mix them by gently shaking

Add ½ cup of water and seal the clay pot with help of wheat flour dough

Now put the clay pot in the oven and allow them to cook for 1 hour on low flame

Turn off the heat after one hour

Break the seal and open the cover, and take them out from the clay pot

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice, paratha, or roti

Ingredients
  

  • 500 gm mutton
  • 5 Onion
  • 4 Potato
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 inch ginger (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup garlic (chopped)
  • salt
  • 1 tbsp  turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin- coriander powder
  • 1/2  Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Cardamom
  • 2 big cardamom
  • 1/2 tbsp Garam masala
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 4 Cloves
  • 1/4 cup curd
  • 2 green chili
  • 1/2 cup Mustard oil
  • wheat flour dough

Instructions
 

  • Clean the mutton piecescompletely, add the yoghurt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, andcumin powder garam masala and coriander powder. Rub the mutton chunks and keep themto marinate for 1 hour.
  • Now take a clean clay pot, and then put the four potatoes
  • Then add the marinated mutton
  • Add the grated ginger
  • Now add the chopped onionsand shake them to mix well
  • Add half cup grated garlic
  • Add 1 tomato cut into 4pieces
  • Now add the whole spices (cinnamon,cardamom, cloves and sahi jeera)
  • Add half cup mustard oil andmix them by gently shaking
  • Add ½ cup of water and sealthe clay pot with help of wheat flour dough
  • Now put the clay pot on theoven and allow them to cook for 1 hour in low flame
  • Turn off the heat after one hour
  • Break the seal and open thecover, and take them out from the clay pot
  • Garnish with coriander leavesand serve hot with rice, paratha or roti
