Raw Banana Curry with Cashew & Shrimp

Today I will share step-by-step how to make Raw Banana Curry with Cashew & Shrimp / Chingri diye kanchakolar Recipe. The marinated shrimp and raw bananas are fried and then simmered in a thick gravy made with tomatoes, onions, cashews, garlic, and ginger and sometimes added with capsicum, finished in a warm, spicy, cumin-flavored sauce.

The types of equipment used to make jamun juice and seeds powder are

The ingredients used for this recipe are

Raw banana: Buy a normal green banana bigger in size, sometimes you will find full of seeds in the smaller one.

Shrimp/ chingri/prawn: purchase medium or small-size shrimps, and it should be fresh.

Cooking oil: you can use any type of cooking oil

Ghee/clarified butter: use desi ghee as it gives a nice flavor while cooking with cashew

Tomato, capsicum & onion: Use normal green capsicum; you may use red or yellow also

Other ingredients are Bay leaf, panchphoron, turmeric powder, green chili, ginger, ginger-garlic paste, cardamom powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, chopped coriander leaves, and salt

How to make Raw Banana Curry with Cashew & Shrimp

Take a pressure cooker, and add cashew, capsicum, tomato, add water close the lid and put it in the oven, and go for 1 whistle

Take them out after releasing the pressure, and put them into cold water

Now take a blender jar, put them in the jar, and make a smooth paste

Peel and cut the banana into medium size

Clean and wash the shrimp and put them on a plate, and add turmeric powder and salt

Rub the shrimp with salt and turmeric powder, and keep them aside for 10-12 minutes

Same way rub the banana pieces with salt and turmeric powder

Heat oil in a kadai, and fry the shrimp on both the sides

Add ghee in the same kadai and add panchphoron and bay leaf for tempering

As they splutter and sizzle add the chopped onion and sauté them until they become translucent, then add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté them for a minute

Add turmeric and cumin powder and stir them until the raw smell goes off

Add the fried banana and stir them well

Now add the cashew paste with little water (washing the bowl), add salt

Cover the lid and allow them to cook for 3-4 minutes on low flame

Open the lid and add the fried shrimp, and mix them well

Add a pinch of cardamom powder and mix them well

Sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves and transfer them to a serving plate and serve hot with rice or roti

  • 200 gm Shrimp/ chingri/prawn
  • 1 tbsp Ghee/clarified butter
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 capsicum,
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 tbsp  ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tbsp panchphoron
  • 1 tbsp  turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1/4 tbsp Cardamom owder
  • 1/2 tbsp red chili powder
  • 2 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
  • salt

Instructions
